Make your end of year gift to St. Laurencetoday!

The St. Laurence hockey program emphasizes teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. The development of each player’s skill is the main priority on the ice, while the development of the whole person is the main priority off the ice. The hockey program has a strong commitment to Christian service, as the team regularly volunteers at Ronald McDonald House, plays an annual charity game with the Hornets Sled Hockey team, and holds an annual Paint the Rink Pink game raising money for breast cancer research. The Viking hockey program is supported by the STL athletic department and is not run as a club team. Therefore, the program has one of the lowest player fees in the area. St. Laurence hockey currently competes at the junior varsity levels. The goal is to return to two levels of play and compete at the varsity level as well.

Coach Bauer took the reins of the hockey program in 2014 after serving as an assistant coach for a year. He has had success playing at all levels of hockey, including four years in the Catholic League, three years with the Chicago Hawks and five years with St. Jude. Kyle brings a youthful energy and excitement to the program. Coach Bauer has experience working with student-athletes of all ability levels and does an excellent job of teaching the fundamentals of hockey to all players. He is committed to developing our current players and building future rosters to return the Vikings to the varsity level and to prominence at a local and state level.
