Michael Hyc has received an Honorable Mention to the IHSA All-State Academic Team.  The IHSA received almost 450 nominations for this award, and Michael was one of only fifty students who were chosen to receive this honor.  “Mike is an outstanding student-athlete,” said Mr. Jim Muting, principal of St. Laurence.  “He works hard on the court and field and does an exemplary job in the classroom.  That being said, Mike is also a great person who comes from a great family.  St. Laurence is the place ‘Where Leadership Begins.’  Mike exemplifies the word ‘leadership’ in all that he does at St. Laurence and in his community.  This is quite an honor for Mike and his family and the students, faculty, and staff of St. Laurence High School.”
