St. Laurence High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Ralph Peck ‘09 as the new head varsity boys volleyball coach.

Ralph takes over the head coaching position after serving as an assistant for the program the past 2 years. Coach Peck was a standout volleyball player at St. Laurence and with the Chicago Volleyball Club program. He continued his playing career at Illinois State University. While at ISU, he was also a member of the practice squad that competed with the women’s team on a daily basis and began officiating volleyball. Ralph continues to play in numerous volleyball tournaments in the area.

“Since playing volleyball here at St. Laurence, it has always been a goal of mine to come back and be the head coach,” said Peck. “I am eager to begin my first season and develop a culture around the volleyball program that will lead to success.”

Ralph started his coaching career with the Chicago Volleyball Club before coming to St. Laurence. He is excited about the opportunity to advance the program at his alma mater. His love and knowledge of the game, combined with his youthful exuberance, make him the perfect fit for the St. Laurence volleyball program.

“We are really excited to have Ralph Peck assume the leadership role in our volleyball program,” said St. Laurence Athletic Director Tim Chandler. “He did a tremendous job as an assistant the past two years, and he is more than ready to be a head coach. Our student-athletes really respect Coach Peck, and they are eager to learn from him. With Ralph’s volleyball background, combined with him being an alumnus, there is no doubt that he is the perfect fit for the position.”
