St. Laurence High School, “The Place Where Leadership Begins,” recently hosted its tenth annual Viking Pride Dinner to honor and celebrate ten outstanding alumni and one great team that were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.  About two hundred people attended this event.

This year’s inductees represented a number of different sports at St. Laurence.  There were eight Viking alums and two coaches that were inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Joseph Cascone ’87, Edward Lynch ’90, and James Czajkowski ’91 were all honored for their exploits on the wrestling mat.  Thomas Dubsky ’88 played outstanding hockey during his time at Laurence.  Eric Fischer ’87 was a stand-out water polo player.  Football player Paul Glonek ’86 was feted for being an all-American player on the gridiron.  Cross-country and track runner Pasquale Perez ’90 and tennis player Tom Reynolds ’76 were also inducted into the Viking Hall of Fame.

The two coaches who joined the players in the Hall of Fame were James Caliendo, who coached swimming and water polo, and Thomas Gauger, who coached wrestling.  The 1987 State Semifinalist baseball team was also honored as a group.
