Several St. Laurence students attended the annual ACTION Leadership Workshop in Florida. Tim Hecker, Tim Nichin, and Chris Wetzel went as participants, and Luke Burdelik was a returning student who was invited to return as a student-leader.

The ACTION Leadership Workshop dates back to the late 1960s as a way to develop the leadership potential in students from Edmund Rice Christian Brothers schools.  There are 250 schools worldwide in this global network, representing five continents.  The workshop was designed to bring together students from across the North American Province to provide them with experience and tools to develop their leadership skills, which could then be used in their own schools.  Virtually every St. Laurence student who has attended the ACTION Leadership Workshop over the years has assumed a role in student government as a Student Council or National Honor Society officer.  In recent years the workshop has grown to include students from the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers schools from four South American countries.
