St. Laurence High School Head Boys Basketball Coach Jim Sexton has resigned his coaching position effective immediately.

“While we are disappointed to lose Coach Sexton, I fully respect his decision to spend more time with his family and focus on his full-time job,” said St. Laurence Athletic Director Tim Chandler. “Coach Sexton brought an exciting brand of basketball to St. Laurence, and he did a great job of re-engaging our basketball alumni. I thank Jim for his dedication to the program over the past few years and I wish him well in his future endeavors. The opening will undeniably generate interest from prospective coaches. We look forward to beginning our search for the next leader of our boys basketball team.”

Sexton led the boys basketball team to a 15-17 record this past season. The team was 62-34 over his three-year stint at the helm. Sexton also served as an assistant prior to being named head coach.

St. Laurence will conduct an extensive search for the next boys basketball coach beginning immediately.
