The St. Laurence wrestling program has a storied history and is working its way back to that elite level. With an experienced and well-respected coaching staff in place, the Vikings are taking the
necessary steps to reach their desired goals. The recent past has seen the best showing at the CCL tournament in years and a number of individual state qualifiers, including a 3rd place finisher.

Andrew Curran is in his 9th year of coaching, his 2nd year at St. Laurence, and his 1st year as a head coach. Curran has spent all 9 of these years working with varsity programs in the Chicago Catholic League. He has coached numerous state placers and a state champion. At his last stop, he helped Br. Rice to their 1st ever Regional Championship.

Prior to his coaching career, Curran was a decorated wrestler. Andrew was a 2-time state medalist in his high school career. He also was a high school All-American in freestyle wrestling. Curran went on to become a 4-year starter at Northwestern University.

Justin Curran began coaching with the Vikings in 2013. During that time, he has had a lot of success working with the higher weight classes, as he has sent multiple wrestlers down state. Coach Curran has a strong wrestling pedigree, including being a 2-time medalist at the IHSA State Finals. He continued his career at Indiana University where he was a 3-year starter and Academic All-Big Ten selection. He was nationally ranked his sophomore and junior year and placed at the prestigious Midlands Tournament. Prior to coming to St. Laurence, Curran coached at the University of Chicago for 2 years, and the team won conference both years.
