What if high school prepared your future for take off?
The Aviation program is one of the most comprehensive offerings of its kind at the high school level. Partnering with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, students move through a structured four-year sequence that builds from foundational concepts to professional-level readiness in piloting, unmanned aircraft systems and aerospace engineering.
Aviation 1 [prerequisite] launches students into the field with an exploration of the history, mechanics and innovation behind flight. You’ll begin mapping areas of interest and identifying where in the industry you want to go.
Aviation 2 deepens technical understanding through two courses: Introduction to Flight, and Aircraft Systems and Performance. You’ll see how aircraft are designed, the forces that keep them airborne, and how to identify and troubleshoot the systems behind it all.
Aviation 3 — students specialize through two available tracks: the Pilot Pathway and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Both begin with preparation for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification, covering airspace, safety, weather and communication. The Pilot Pathway then continues into navigation and cross-country planning, while the UAS track focuses on drone performance, safety and regulations, culminating in readiness for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test.
Aviation 4 — a capstone year where you’ll explore advanced aviation topics, commercial flight operations and the future of aerospace. Students then complete a research and presentation project on a contemporary aviation topic of your choosing.
By graduation, you’ll leave with technical expertise, FAA test preparation and a clear vision for how you can contribute to one of the most dynamic industries in the world.
