Computer Science

In partnership with Lewis University, the Computer Science program offers dual-enrollment courses where you can earn both high school and college credit while building a genuine foundation in computing – from coding and programming to systems administration and cybersecurity.

Coding [Computer Science 1 – prerequisite] — students start by exploring computer architecture, networking, data organization and information security. You’ll learn to write code, solve problems through computational thinking and develop the analytical mindset that carries across every field that technology touches.

From there, you can specialize in one of two directions.

Programming Fundamentals [Computer Science 2] deepens understanding of software design and computer organization, covering data types, logical structures, algorithms and data management that prepare students for careers or further study in programming, software engineering or computer science research.

Intro to Linux [Computer Science 2] immerses students in one of the world’s most widely used operating systems – teaching you to install, configure and administer Linux environments while preparing for the LPIC-1 Certification, a globally recognized credential in IT systems management.

Students completing this program graduate with college credit, a professional certification opportunity and the technical fluency to thrive in a world that runs on technology.
